The assembly of the first-generation whole-genome radiation hybrid map of the horse provides a comprehensive framework map that both incorporates type I and type II markers, and integrates cytogenetic, syntenic, and meiotic maps. Comparison of 447 horse genes to human and mouse sequence orthologs provides the most up-to-date information on conservation between the 3 species. (For details see Chowdhary et al., pp. 742-751.)
