About the Cover

Cover Figure

The freshwater pufferfish, Tetraodon nigroviridis. T. nigroviridis, like Fugu rubripes, has a compact genome compared to that of other vertebrates because of the reduced size of its intergenic and intronic sequences. A structural analysis of the Tetraodon genome provides its repeat content and organization, paving the way for genome sequencing. (For details, see Roest Crollius et al., p. 939.)
